My professional background includes providing counseling services in private practice. I have experience working in a variety of settings, including residential treatment, hospital, and outpatient programs. I also have experience teaching in higher education. All together, I have 16 years experience counseling adults with mental health and substance use issues. I utilize an eclectic approach to best meet a client’s needs, but often incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Strength Based, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy concepts.
I know the importance of work life balance. When not providing counseling services I enjoy being outdoors, cooking, tennis, traveling, trying new things, enjoying the local food scene, and spending time with family and friends.
